Blogging is becoming a new trend across the globe. Many classrooms in Britain are using blogs as their personal journals in the classroom. The website http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3804773.stm reports that these students are doing well in their classes. And there is even talk about these students having so much fun that they have started a “do your homework” program after school. The program at this school was so good and successful that they are nominated for an award. The students in the United Kingdom seem to be learning a lot from blogs.
There is also a school in Guatemala using blogs to improve literacy in Elementary schools. Even though many parents are frowning upon this they think it is a great way for students not only to learn about technology but also to improve their reading skills. The site I read was http://www.silobreaker.com/DocumentReader.aspx?Item=5_843473920 They are also using blogs to get support from people, by raising money.
Teachers all around the world are using blogs to help students learn a little easier and in a more advance way. With technology these days and with students loving computers how are we not to use computers everyday? So teachers have decided to use blogs. These blogs are a student’s personal journal. They are used to write in as a journal, not only a journal but also a clipboard for other students to get information from. The students can look at each others blog and can comment on others work.
Teachers are not just limited to blog with the technology. There is tons and tons of technology they use in the classroom. They use the computer for a lot of things; such as for learning games and the internet. The internet is something I believe every classroom should have. It is the ‘world at your fingertips” it not only helps student’s look things up fast but it also helps them learn fast as well.
